Three separate individuals have been asked by the BBC to review Price by Price with a number of other price comparison websites. The point of the exercise was to determine which comparison sites are accessible to people with a range disabilities.
Such impairments reviewed included: visual impairments, dyslexia and non specific arm pain (RSI).
In the UK today there are some 30 million people with a range of disabilities which can cause problems when accessing the web. Since many products such as car insurance, credit cards, loans, mobile phones can now be compared online, those with web accessibility issues may be excluded or hindered in obtaining the best deal available.
Access to price comparison websites is therefore becoming an issue not only with potential customers but also with the providers of such comparison services.
The BBC report scored Price by Price over 6 out of 10 for each category. To find out more read the full BBC report.
People with accessibility issues have long been neglected by those using the internet for commercial purposes although a variety of software has long been available to help.
